If you are going to Cambodia there is a good chance you will be in Siem Reap at some point on your visit. Siem Reap is the location where you will find Angor Wat. First of all getting there can be difficult, especially if you are trying not to get ripped off in the process. You could get robbed, you may be dropped at an expensive place to stay that you have no way to leave because of a late night drop off. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Once you make it to Cambodia, remember that for the most part the country runs on US dollars. Your dollars are the usual way you will pay for everything. Accommodations are nice and don’t cost much money, a nice fan room is probably less than $10 US and probably comes with breakfast.

Visiting Angor Wat is best done over three days. You can hire a driver that will stick with you all day and take you to which ever locations you wish to go. Most of these guys are helpful enough to guide you near to where you want to go. Explore for a couple of days and then go back to your favorite spots for a closer look on the third day. You may want an extra day in the middle for a rest and shopping day. You can even go to a small orphanage called ACODO and see some children performing traditional dance.

When Planning a trip to Thailand it is good to have some idea about where you want to go when you get there and what types of places you want to stay when you get there.
